Our Mission is to connect youth from all walks of life with rescued and rehabilitated horses to share the experience of unconditional love and trust gained through equine interaction.
Last year, New Life Thoroughbred Rescue and Freedom Reigns teamed up to save 11 PMU foals, yearlings and two year olds who were heading to slaughter in Manatoba, Canada. Since then, we have merged forces, adopted, purchased and/or rescued 6 more horses, 5 of which are retired race horses from both coasts. These regal animals are rehabilitated, retrained, and loved, some for the first time in their lives.
After careful evaluation, the horses are introduce into our youth program where they will spend their lives with kids who just need to know the meaning of unconditional love and trust. Through this experience, kids will gain personal awareness and insight regarding their life situations as well as responsibility and accomplishment while nurturing and caring for the horses.
We held our first Teen Girl's Clinic!
We held our first Teen Girl's Clinic. These teens are part of The Matthews House transitional program where they are lovingly coached toward better living. Watching their faces as they rode around the arena and on the trail was really exciting. They enjoyed a BBQ afterward prepared by the husbands of the many volunteers. Thanks to Nick and Val Lanteri for the use of their home and to the many, many volunteers it took to pull this off!
We are excited to announce that we have attended the Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch information clinic.
Yes! We are currently interviewing volunteers! If you are interested, please email your credentials to newlifehorses@gmail.com
